Peer Support Worker

Band 3 - £17,760 - 20,727 per annum

Based in City Quay, Dundee and sites across Tayside, this is an exciting opportunity to work within a one-stop-shop service for veterans and their families across Tayside. Veterans First Point (V1P) services are developed by veterans, for veterans and have veterans on their staff teams. Funded by the Scottish Government and Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership, V1P Tayside will provide information and signposting to other useful services; understanding and listening; support and social networking and access to health and well-being services - including a comprehensive mental health service delivered by a multi-professional team on-site.

Peer Support Workers are the first point of contact for veterans and family members who come to the service. As former military personnel, they bring a shared understanding of the transition from military to civilian life and seek to support each veteran and their family to meet their particular needs.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
